Wrap Party, currently running at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre as part of the Camden Fringe, is a fast paced comedy built on real lived experience with film-set catering, with one more show coming up tonight!
Harry and Ollie run the services at a busy location shoot. The duo have been friends their entire lives, and try to deal with the everyday madness as best as they can. Ollie dreams of making it big as an actor some day, while Harry has poured everything into the catering business that is now starting to crumble beneath him. As colourful characters demand complicated coffee orders while the wrap party draws ever nearer, things threaten to spiral out of control.
This show, written and directed by Harry Petty, is extremely fast paced and delightfully hilarious. Two actors take on a myriad of revolving characters, from the eccentric director to the jobsworth health and safety inspector. There’s a great narrative about friendship, love, and aspirations at the bottom of a razor sharp comedy that takes on the film industry in a very light-hearted tone.
The audience barely has a moment to catch their breath as the duo of actors present a hilarious cast of characters, all with their own goals and aspirations. Expert acting makes them easily distinguishable while the storyline runs through a stressful day, an overly exuberant party and the direct aftermath.
Based on real life characters and experiences, it’s a brilliant show for anyone who’s ever been on a film set or just really likes to laugh.
