Running until 31st July in Camden at the Etcetera Theatre, as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe 2nd to 15th August, All These Pretty Things is a very intimate show about trauma, abandonment, and rebuilding yourself after the worst has happened.
Tracey Yarad asks, what do you do when your husband leaves you for your teenage goddaughter? You dye your wedding dress black, write some killer songs and make a show.
And what a show it is! Based on her lived experiences over a 23 year marriage that ended with unexpected drama, Yarad leads through an incredible blend of concert, tell-all expose, animated think-piece theatre, and a thorough catch up with an old friend. Peppered with gorgeous piano-accompanied songs, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience.
Confidently leading through the very personal story of her marriage, breakdown, and thorough reinvention, it’s intensely honest and charmingly raw. Yarad dives deeply into her emotions and invites the audience to join her on this journey of reminiscence. With a good dose of humour, it’s lighter and warmer than it has any right to be. With so much talent, skill, and personality oozing from Yarad’s every pore, it’s a delightfully engaging show that touches deeply. All These Pretty Things runs the gamut through every emotion, there is joy and love, devastation and fear, hope and determination. The sheer zest for life and remarkable character exhibited by the performer alone is worth seeing the show, mixed in with a stunningly gorgeous soundtrack it’s an evening that will linger in your soul for a while to come! Don’t miss this beautiful experience.
