Cockfosters had a short run at the Southwark Playhouse Borough recently, and will hopefully return for a longer residence at another theatre very soon as it’s a comedic delight right at home in London!

James and Tori meet on a Piccadilly Line train at Heathrow and ride it all the way to Cockfosters while getting to know each other, and some of the most common cliches you’ll encounter on the tube at any time. It’s a delightful view at why Londoners love and hate the tube so much, and what kind of people are staples on our brilliant transport network.

This show pulls no punches and dives straight into the most annoying commuter habits, before diving head first into every single cliche of transport characters, from loud-mouth chads over hen-dos and football fans to satirising tube ads, it’s all there and it’s all presented to intense belly-laughs from the audience.

The stage design is simple but effective, a tube carriage cut in half with two doors ready to host a revolving cast of characters that intrude on Tori and James’ conversation, challenging them to history lessons, game shows, and even a rap battle. Cockfosters really does have it all!

Synching the running time with the time the journey from Heathrow to Cockfosters actually takes is a stroke of genius for this small group of extremely talented comedic actors who make this show an absolute delight to watch. If it was running for longer, I’d definitely head back to see it again!
