Shepherd’s Bush Empire
If you don’t yet follow Siegfried und Joy on social media, you’re really missing out. This past Friday, they visited London for a third year in a row, growing their audience each time, selling out the Shepherd’s Bush Empire this time round!
Their show is a brilliantly energetic mix of their unique brand of comedy, and great magic entertainment. Full of funny skits as fans are used to from their plethora of online clips, they really play up the “magic gone wrong” angle while slipping in the occasional impressive trick that really wows the audience from laughter to astonishment.
While they’re not the most professional magicians you’ve ever seen, their unique comedy style absolutely delights. The variety of different tricks and sequences is captivating and well thought through, though Mentalist Joy definitely didn’t expect London kids to be London kids and cleverly sabotage the act through sass and ingenuity, turning a 1 minute interlude into a ten minute ordeal. But even this wrench thrown into the gears was skilfully shrugged off and the show ushered on to the grand finale.
One of the funniest, most engaging magic shows I’ve ever seen!
