I haven’t been to the Barons Court Theatre in years! But when another show I had booked got cancelled last minute, I made the trek down to see The Good The Bad The Silly, an absurd comedy show by Broken Gods Productions.
A bar in an abandoned town, with an upbeat, eccentric barman who effortlessly entertains the audience before the show begins with whacky antics and silly interactions. A mysterious cowboy drops into the scene, quite literally, with no memories and a lot of questions. As he tries to get his bearings, figuring out where he is and how he got there, a colourful cast of characters descend on the small bar. Each with their own mysteries to solve and stories that weave into each other. Can the cowboy figure out what is going on, with some help from the restlessly involved barman?
This small show is a delight to watch, with a plethora of hilarious interactions, a mix of slapstick physical comedy and cleverly woven storylines intersecting relentlessly. With very few props, this troupe really makes use of the small theatre and engages the audience fully in this silly but very entertaining storyline. A great little comedy show that is still on at the Barons Court Theatre until Saturday, definitely take yourself down on a little theatre trip if you need a good laugh!
