The Little Big Things is a brand new musical, based on the true story of Henry Fraser, whose diving accident at the age of 17 changed his life forever. Henry and his family have to find ways to adapt to his new life as a tetraplegic in a world that still throws a lot of barriers towards wheelchair users.
Drawing from Fraser’s autobiography of the same name, the musical follows Henry on his journey to accepting his new life circumstances, and finding the joy and passion in life again.
With determination and lots of support from family, friends, and support workers, Henry forges a new path and starts living a life he could have never dreamed of before his accident.
The musical is bold, loud, and full of colour! With passionate songs it challenges stereotypical and often stigmatising views on disability, centring the lived experience of wheelchair users in a world that is often difficult to navigate.
Far from a pity party, the Little Big Things celebrates possibilities, changes, and hard work while also looking at the emotional toll on a family wracked with guilt, trying to adjust and embrace new ways of living.
The staging is bright and full of joy, thoroughly life affirming, and uplifting. A beautiful new production that has a few snags still to be ironed out, but wholly convinces with intensity, passion, and humour!
