Operation Mincemeat is based on the real story of a military operation of the same name. During WWII, the British intelligence service came up with a ruse to fool the German invasion forces. To aid the liberation of Sicily. They obtained the body of an at the time unknown homeless man who had died of rat poison, dressed him in a Royal Marines uniform, outfitted him with a variety of personal items and documents of fictitious Captain William Martin to make him more legitimate, and transported his body to the Spanish coast. With the body, they also placed documents explaining the Allied plans of invading Greece and Sardinia, hoping to draw German forces out of Sicily to make the liberation easier and faster and limit casualties.

The comedy play takes on this story with a huge dose of humour and glam. If you know any of the productions from Kill The Beast, you’ll know exactly what kind of humour and mayhem you’re in for! Three members of Kill The Beast are the co-creators of this insanely loud and glitzy musical. And they utilize their signature macabre but goofy style to create an engaging, entertaining story that is non-stop laugh-out-loud. Masterfully presented with flamboyant panache, Operation Mincemeat is a brilliant addition to the West End, and one of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen in a while!
