Another show at the Vault Festival. Bloody Mary: Live! takes on the story of Mary Tudor, teen queen with a bloody image. A fantastic show for any fans of SIX who want to see another perspective on their favourite queens.
Mary, first born daughter of Henry VIII, didn’t have the easiest of childhoods. With her mother exiled for not bearing the king a son, and a kingdom torn apart by the establishment of a new church to facilitate the divorce, Mary stands on the sidelines as her life falls apart. Five step-mothers, sibling rivalry of the royal kind, and religious purges, not the usual angsty teen drama!
Olivia Miller takes on the role of a young Mary Tudor and imagines her as a stand up comedian. With plenty of audience interactions and punchlines that hit with full force, it’s a hilarious show bringing a new context and fresh view of the queen with the bloodiest image.
Sharp and clever, and extremely entertaining, I absolutely loved this show!
