The Drifters Girl came highly recommended by a friend, so I added it to my list of shows to see in the holiday period.

I was lucky enough to see a show that was all alternates. These actors and artists often don’t get the appreciation they deserve, but they keep theatre alive! I loved seeing these extraordinary talents on stage, giving it their all to keep the show going.

The story is that of Faye Treadwell and how she built up, promoted and managed The Drifters. A beautifully told story with so many well known songs that’s just a delight to watch. The staging is quite simple in terms of stage design, but stunning and functional in how it uses the different pieces of movable items and lights. The focus is always kept on the singers rather than the surroundings, which made it feel very personal and close.

If you like the music of The Drifters at all, definitely get yourself down to the West End and indulge in this musical exposition that includes the history of this musical act intermixed with the plethora of great hits!
