The Enchanted Forest Exit game was listed as a beginner/children’s game, but I still had to give it a go! As with all Kosmos Exit games, this one comes with a decoder disk, a stack of riddle cards, a stack of answer cards, several 3-card stacks of help cards and a few “strange items”.
This was the first Exit Game that I used the Kosmos companion app with. It doesn’t add any functionality, but it does have beautifully atmospheric background sounds and a timer, and also keeps track of your points for you. So all you have to do is turn it on, start the timer, and keep track of how many useful clue cards you used. It definitely enhances the game through the background music and sounds alone! I knew the Enchanted Forest was geared more towards children/families and kept this in mind while playing.
It had a very charming theme to it and is done really well as a family game. The riddles are so creative and engaging, this would be so much fun for children 10+ to play and is well suited to their abilities. With the help of adults of course. Chock full of fairy tale creatures and cute tasks, it was one of the most fun Exit games I’ve played so far! It took me just over an hour to finish on my own. There is undeniably a lot of entertainment stuffed into this small box and could be a great introductory or family game!
