Another musical I’ve been wanting to see for a while, Annie has been running in the West End for a while. I was excited to have a chance to catch this new production.
The show opens, of course, in the dreadful orphanage with the children lamenting their miserable lives. This cast of very young performers was extremely strong and surprisingly professional, belting out their songs, not hesitating for a single line and very steady with their choreography. It’s not every day you see a cast of children so enthusiastic, skilled and disciplined take the stage and passionately make each and every character come to life. Especially Annie stunned with her beautiful singing voice and sunny personality.

Every character was perfectly represented as a strong caricature, both lovable and intense, with strong singing voices and very fun and energetic choreographies. I laughed out loud on more than one occasion, this is such a delightful staging of this cheesy story.
Costumes, stage design, music, singing, everything about this show was beautiful and bright and full of character. I loved this radiant production of Annie.
